I'm Gaby Goldin, a PhD in History and a ceramist. I love teaching and exploring the La Merced neighborhood where my grandmother was born. I'm convinced that exploring where we come from helps us understand the world and understand ourselves, as well as those who are different from us.

We took the three-hour tour of the historic center with some American friends who were visiting Mexico City, and it was a fantastic experience! The tour itself is wonderful, but doing it with Gabriela, who in addition to being an excellent guide is a PhD in History, was a true treat. As we walked, she offered us a deep and well-articulated look at the development of the Jewish community in Mexico: from its origins in the time of the Conquest, its situation during the colonial period, the changes of the 19th century, and its evolution in the 20th century, all framed within the historical and social context of the country. We left happy to have seen places we hadn't been to and learned many new things about the ones we had!

We had a delightful time on the Jewish area tour in Mexico City with our guide, Gaby. Her enthusiasm and friendly demeanor created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our group. Gaby shared fascinating insights into the Jewish history and culture of the city, which made the tour both educational and engaging. We learned a great deal about the vibrant Jewish community and its significance in Mexico City. Thank you, Gaby, for a memorable and informative tour—we’d recommend it to anyone interested in exploring this unique cultural heritage!
